Blanco State Park

Wednesday March 28, 2012: Blanco State Park consists of 110 acres on the south side of Blanco. During the month of March, 2011, more than 30 species of birds were sighted, including black-bellied whistling duck, pied-billed grebe, great blue heron, eastern bluebird, orange-crowned warbler and many more. There is a Wildlife Viewing Station where you can sit and watch. Our guide, Shirley Winslow, will take us on a walk along the Blanco River.

The trip is limited to 25.

Those who wish to carpool, meet at Chapel of the Hills at 7:30 a.m. We will meet and check in at the park by 8:30 a.m. Fee is $4 unless you have a Texas Parklands Passport (Bluebonnet), then $2. Those with an Annual Texas Pass, free to all in that car. Then we will drive to the Viewing Station and park.

Lunch will be at the Redbud Cafe on the Blanco Square, at about 11:30 a.m.

The park is located at #101 Park Road 23, Blanco, TX 78606. Phone: 830-833-4333
